The Colors of Venice

"The Colors of Venice" is meant to bring a sense of the total atmosphere of visiting this incredible city.  The stripes of the mooring poles immediately direct the eye to the center of the painting (reds of awnings, gondolas) and around the curve of the buildings to the center back.  While my reference photo is very busy with poles, and gondolas, I strategically left out just enough to simplify the composition to make it more comfortable for the viewer.  This is a much larger painting than the vertical "Venice" painting.  I have also included people involved in their daily activities.
