Although drawing and painting have been a part of my life since early childhood, it has only been in recent years that I have had the opportunity to devote serious time to this passion. Painting is such an integral part of who I am, that I cannot conceive the thought of it’s non-existence in my life.
It is my goal to entice one into a painting and then allow the individual to depart with a deeper emotional awareness and sense of pleasure. One would not classify my work as a literal statement of the subject; rather it is an impressionistic interpretation giving freedom for the viewer to feel the passion translating from the artist to the painting.
My work has captured honors in the Brass Latch Art Show, Heartland Artists Regional Exhibits, Wabash Art Guild Shows, and has been published in the Ford Meter Box Calendar. Some of my accomplishments include selection for exhibits in the Three Rivers Invitational Exhibit, Hoosier Salon Exhibit, Fort Wayne Art Guild – Ventures In Creativity Exhibit, the Nine County Regional Art Show and the 2008 Celectrating Hoosier Women Artists sponsored by Lt. Governor Becky Skillman. In September of 2006, I was a featured artist at the Hoosier Salon, New Harmony Gallery. My most recent commissions are two pieces featured in the Summit County Parade of Homes, Breckenridge, Colorado.
I grew up on a farm in Wabash County, Indiana and have lived most of my life here. The beauty of the countryside provided me a good foundation for which to build a collection of memories that echo in my paintings. My husband, Joe, and I live in North Manchester and enjoy spending time with our family, all of whom live close by. Please click here for a detailed resume.
